When discussing how sshd works, you mentioned that SSH is a protocol right.. but when I see in the security group SSH is type and TCP is protocol.. what is the difference?

SSH uses transport layer

TCP Port range is from 0 to 65535 but port numbers 0 to 1023 are reserved for privileged services and designated as well-known ports
